WTI March 2018 Newsletter

A Message From Rendy Taylor

Spring is here, and that is great news for the flatbed industry. People are beginning to start on their spring projects and the demand for building materials has picked up. We have really seen a big uptick in the freight levels so far in 2018 and from all indications it appears that we are going to have a great 2018. Hopefully, this will be a good year for all of us in the industry.

But always remember, no matter how busy we get, Safety always comes first. The highways will be busy with people enjoying spring breaks and vacations, so always stay focused on your surroundings. Always drive defensively and never assume anything. Also as the temperatures begin to soar make sure you are prepared on how to treat and prevent heat related illnesses. Heat related illness is serious and can happen to anyone. Learn the signs and symptoms of heat related illness and monitor for those signs on hot days. Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

A couple of other subjects I would like to cover with you, one being our truck giveaway. One of you lucky WTI drivers will win a T660 Kenworth that will be given away on September 14th, 2018. Make sure and talk with your Fleet Manager about how you become eligible to win this truck. Good Luck can’t wait to see which one of you is the big winner. The next thing I want to talk about is, we have contracted with People Element. People Element provides a service that contacts each of our drivers and completes a survey with you regarding your experiences with WTI. All of this is anonymous, very different from the other services we have used in the past; no one will question you regarding your comments. So please, make sure and talk with them when they contact you and answer the survey truthfully. This is a way for us to gauge ourselves on things that we are doing well in and things that we can improve on. We look forward to receiving the survey results.

Thanks, and always remember you are the Professionals of the Road and we are very proud of each of you.
