WTI September 2017 Newsletter
Another year is flying by; this must mean we are getting older. Summer is over and the kids are back in school and Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it. So far 2017 has been a strong year for WTI Transport and from all indicators it should continue to be great for us. Freight levels for WTI are very high at this time and should remain that way throughout the rest of the year.
We have many things to be thankful for, our great country that we live in, the great company that we work for, our great customers and vendors that provide for us each day, and the greatest of all is the great people and their families that we work with each day. Thanks to each of you for selecting to be a part of the WTI/Daseke Team.
Let’s remember to keep the victims of the hurricanes, in Texas and Florida, in our thoughts and prayers. Many people lost everything and it will take some time for them to rebuild and to get their lives back. It is exciting that WTI will have an opportunity in helping the people, in these hurricane ravaged areas, rebuild their homes and businesses, and help them get their lives back on track.
We are at 100% in having all of our trucks ELD (E-Log) compliant. Thanks to everyone in making this happen. We are much further ahead of our competition, in that we are equipped and ready for the mandate, which is December 18, 2017. ELDs will cause all of us, plus our shippers and vendors, to change the way we operate in managing our time better. Having the ELDs already installed in our trucks gives us a step up over our competition, in that we will have time to learn what and how to work with the ELDs before the mandate date. The ELDs will place all of the trucking companies on the same playing field; everyone will be required to operate the same numbers of hours each day.
As I have said in previous newsletter, Safety is and always will be #1 at WTI; we will never put anything ahead of Safety. This includes your safety, our customer’s safety and all others safety out on this nation’s highways. When planning you’re your trip and preforming your daily pre-trip on your equipment, always put Safety First, never compromise, never take shortcuts, and never take chances.
Thanks everyone for being a part of our team. Let’s be safe and finish the year Strong.
